Blog 12: Final Reflection

Our task in the Hamlet Presentation was to compare and contrast Hamlet, the play, to a style model. The style model my group and I decided to use was The Hunger Games. We chose this style model because this model is based around fighting and war, just like in Hamlet. In both models there are evident themes of anger and revenge. This model is also modern and easy to relate to. To start off this project we found quote in Hamlet that we felt would work during the incorporation of our theme and the Hunger Games, as they both pertain to The War as an Affirmation of Masculinity. After these quotes were found and cited, we began on the script. We split the script up evenly as a group, some analyzing, and some writing actual lines. After the script was prepared we filmed the movie, and the project was complete!

The challenges we faced during this project was incorporating the script of Hamlet in our Script of "The Hamlet Games". Because the style of writing was much different, it was a challenge to make it seem like it fit and flowed with the story. We think one our strengths was analyzing the piece. We made sure to analyze the script and show the audience how the two models related.

Overall, we felt the project was a success and it made me learn more about the play.
